I have heard about the latest rumblings of discontent from a member of First Lurgan Presbyterian Church. They appear happy enough to overlook the positive elements of what’s going on in a ‘deeply divided’ and ‘fractured’ church, with the various social events which have been a roaring success in recent months.
Events have been diverse and enjoyed by young and old, and having attended several of them I saw no signs of discontent. While it’s entirely possible/probable that those who have a grievance to bear chose not to attend these (and if they did, there was no inclination of unease), there was definitely signs of inter-generational mixing.
Turning the other cheek is obviously not so easy for some to do.
