Celtic off to a winning start

LURGAN Celtic got their pre-season programme off to a winning start.

They had a 3-1 victory against Intermediate B side Richill at Lurgan Junior High on Saturday.

Scorers for the winners were new signings Daniel Ryan and Ryan Murphy who both showed up well and look likely to boost Manager Ciaran O’Kanes squad.

The third was a penalty scored by Niall Lavery.

Although this was a first outing for both sides the match was played at a very competitive pace and in a sporting manner.

Lurgan Celtic wish Richill well in their endevours during the coming season.

This evening (Thursday) the Hoops host Loughall United at Knockramer Park with a 7.15pm.

A reduced admission price will be in operation to cover the match officials expenses.

Next Tuesday a Glenavon select will be the visitors to Knockramer when the same conditions will apply.

On a personal note the club wishes a speedy recovery to team attendant Aiden Smith who is currently in Craigavon Area Hospital.

It is hoped he will soon be back at the club as his input is sorely missed by one and all.
