A cross community cricket match is being held at Lurgan Cricket Club, Pollock Park, on 31st May at 7pm.

This match will run alongside a family sports day and BBQ. The aim for this match is to create some interest for cricket across all communities and is being organised by Peadar McMahon.

“I am organising the team to face a Lurgan CC Select XI,” said Peadar.

“I believe cricket is a great sport that has been widely regarded as a sport for one side of our local community and I hope this will raise awareness and give all people the opportunity to experience it. So we are looking for players to get in contact if they want to participate in this initiative. You may find an affinity with it and find a hidden talent. If this match is successful we will look into organising further matches and further promoting cricket to all sides, something which Lurgan CC have taken great strides in doing.”

You can contact Peadar by email at for more information. There will be a couple of practices beforehand, the first being this Thursday at Lurgan CC.
