Dollingstown finally achieved the Mid-Ulster club’s Irish League dream today (Saturday) with a 5-2 home win against Brantwood in the promotion play-off.
A 2-1 deficit from the midweek first leg left Brantwood with the upper hand entering the Planters Park meeting.
However, first-half goals by Adam Walker and Neil Clydesdale turned the tie before Colin Cunningham grabbed a decisive hat-trick after the interval.
Nine-man Brantwood scored directly from a free-kick and grabbed a second on the day with a penalty kick during the 6-4 aggregate defeat.
Dollingstown - fresh from a Mid-Ulster clean sweep - now face a crucial summer in preparation for next season’s NIFL Championship Two debut campaign.
