Glenavon have signed former Carrick Rangers goalkeeper James Taylor.
Manger Gary Hamilton moved quickly to find a number two after James McGrath was forced to depart Mourneview Park because of work commitments.
“I delighted we managed to get a goalkeeper in so quickly,” said boss Hamilton. “James has plenty of experience and he will certainly create competition for Jonny Tuffey.
“When I was playing for Glentoran I remember James pushing Elliott Morris for the number one spot until he got a bad head injury. He has come back well from that and I’m delighted we have managed to get him on board.
“At this minute in time Jonny will start the season as number one, but he is happy to have competition to keep him on his toes and as everyone knows at Glenavon if a player gets injured or suspended then the man coming in always has that chance to hold onto the shirt.”
