Hall grabbed goals either side of the interval and either side of a Danny Wallace own goal before Danny Purkis’ injury-time finish secured an emphatic 4-0 triumph.

If the first by experienced winger Hall served as a rarity within his goal collection as he headed home, the second was a trademark free-kick finish.

Craig Hyland proved in the correct position between the Glenavon posts on seven minutes to collect Ryan Swan’s header at a stretch.

Glenvon enjoyed success down the flanks, with Peter Campbell and Hall each a threat to the blank scoreline thanks to teasing deliveries.

The deadlock was broken on 28 minutes with another ball into the box - as midfielder Robert Garrett provided the assist.

Garrett and Campbell combined over a corner-kick before the former clipped the ball into the packed penalty area and Hall’s downward header found the net from a close-range central position.

The impressive Campbell came close to increasing the Glenavon lead but fired wide of the mark past the half-hour point.

Glenavon managed to make it 2-0 moments later, however, thanks to an own goal off the unfortunate Wallace,

Purkis picked up possession wide on the right and his ball towards the danger area looped over a back-tracking Andy Coleman off the out-stretched leg of Wallace during the defender’s attempted block.

Glenavon increased the attacking threat after the break as Purkis displayed clever footwork to create space for a dangerous cross.

Purkis then just missed out on a crucial connection to cap Campbell’s superb run for number three by Glenavon, with the home winger twisting, turning and driving at pace towards the Warrenpoint backline.

Purkis was presented with a clear opening off Garrett’s sliderule pass to cut open the Warrenpoint defence but the striker could only steer his shot beyond both Coleman and the frame of the goal.

A free-kick was then awarded to Glenavon when goalkeeper Coleman made the choice to race out of his area and attempt to clear the ball but picked up a booking for his foul on Matthew Fitzpatrick.

Hall stepped up and found the top corner of the net in style from the subsequent set-piece to increase Glenavon’s advantage.
