Lurgan Town U11 1 Ridgeway U11 7

LURGAN Town fell to a heavy defeat after a second half collapse against title chasing Ridgeway at Wallace Park in Lisburn on Saturday.

For two-thirds of the match Lurgan had matched their opponents, scoring an equaliser early in the second half.

There was little to choose between the teams in the first half with Daire Furphy going close for Lurgan in the second minute.

Ridgeway started to gain a foothold in the match and twice went close before breaking the deadlock after 12 minutes,

Ewan Buchanan was unfortunate when a free-kick from wide on the left, won after a great individual run by Callum Ferris, struck the crossbar.

Callum Ferris was the player on target in the second half with a well placed header from the rebound after Matthew Strain had been denied by the keeper.

Ridgeway went on to score another six goals, with four of those coming in the final 12 minutes.

Lurgan Town: Liam Hughes, Adam Leathem, Simon Wilson, Ruairi Conlan, Diarmaid Loney, Conor Weir, Jordan Dawson, Ewan Buchanan, Daire Furphy, Callum Ferris, Matthew Strain, Nicholas Brownlee, Aaron Smith.
