LURGAN RFC preparations for the new season are well underway.
Pre-season training kicked off last week with 25 players attending the first session.
Senior training is held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30pm to 9pm.
Scott Gardiner was elected as first fifteen captain for a second year with David Harvey leading the seconds. Both players were bouyant about the season ahead and were particularly pleased to see the return of a number of players to Pollock Park.
At the recent annual general meeting new chairman, Mark Prentice, ushered in a new era for Lurgan RFC with promotion from Q3 the main priority.
The new committee have also ambitious plans off the field with a number of events in the pipeline including a golf day and barbecue, ‘Back to School Night’ and the restoration of a Taverners cricket eleven and that’s just for August.
The chairman called on members to support the new committee and any events that are organised.
