LURGAN Cricket Club hosted their annual Kwik Cricket Blitz at Pollock Park last Friday.
In beautiful weather conditions, eight local primary schools competed for a place at the Northern Ireland finals.
The schools were split into two groups with Kings Park, St Mary’s, Bleary and Drumgor in one group and Maralin, with Carrick, Lurgan Model and St Teresa’s in the other.
The standard of play was excellent and all of the children who took part thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Following the group stage, the teams progressed to play-offs to determine the final positions.
In the third/fourth place play-off, St Mary’s, Derrytrasna defeated Carrick in a nail-biting encounter and in the final, Maralin defeated Kings Park to progress to the Northern Ireland finals day at Stormont on Friday, June 8.
