Minors bow out

THE curtain raiser at the Athletic Grounds last Sunday was no less thrilling than the event which was to follow.

Armagh and Tyrone minors entertained the crowd in a high scoring affair with a magnificent display from Mark Bradley who scored 2-7 for the victorious Red Hand boys and was the difference between the sides.

In the opening period it was the home side who played the best football and led on a scoreline of 0-11 to 1-2 after 21 minutes.

From a local point of view, Clann Éireann’s Shea Heffron lined out at right corner back and Diarmuid O’Hagan from Clan na Gael, who had been out through injury, made an appearance in the second half.

The goals hit by Tyrone made all the difference on the day and although the Orchard boys led by two points at the break two second half goals from Hackett and McGaghan gave the visitors a three points win and a place in the semi final.
