Awards night at Sarsfields

THERE was a large crowd turn out for the recent Sarsfields underage presentation night.

The recently refurbished Sarsfields Community Hall was looking well and club members had put a good effort into making the evening a special event for our young players and their parents. This is primarily a night for the club to thank their young players and to pay tribute to players who were deservedly receiving awards for their efforts.

The theme among most of the awards was not only the talent of the players but of the work and effort they had devoted to improving their game.

Derrytrasna ladies and All-Ireland Champions Mags and Catherine McAlinden were on hand to present the young Highmoss players with their awards.

The award winners were as follows:

U14 Most Improved Girl Aoife Shanks; U14 Player of the Year Alisha Donnelly; U14 Most Improved Boy Liam McVeigh; U14 Player of the Year Sean McAlinden; U16 Most Improved Player Conan McAlinden; U16 Player of the Year Caolan Skelton; Minor Most Improved Player Michael McCrory; Minor Player of the Year Niall Kerr.
