Lurgan players entered this week’s club programme fresh from Ulster success at the Sainsbury’s School Games.
Kathryn Edgar, Kerrie Burns and Orla Thompson lined out in England at the youth tournament as part of the Ulster under 17s’ panel.
Ulster girls finished with bronze and the players will take that confidence into domestic tests.
Thompson made her mark with a number of key goals across fixtures against England White, Wales and England Blue - the latter to settle the push for bronze.
Lurgan’s Ulster Hockey Shield campaign was scheduled to start last night (Wednesday) at home to North Down.
Lurgan visit Dungannon on Saturday then a derby date in Portadown during the September 16 schedule.
The final shield fixture will arrive on September 30 at home to Randalstown.
