Clann Eireann got their first win of the new season last Sunday with a comfortable 2 14 to 0 09 triumph over Wolfe Tones,

The Lake Street side could, in different circumstances, have been on full points following their three games, but let an eight-point lead slip on the opening day of the season against a Grange team who have gone on to prove that they will be difficult to beat this year.

Although narrowly beaten against St Paul’s recently the Clann Eireann despite an indifferent first half controlled most of the second period against the Tones last Sunday.

Goals from John McLaughlin and James McDade paved the win for Clann Eireann’s win over the Cash men who were missing Finnian Moriarty.

The Lurgan side will be hoping to bring some of their young players who have been successful over the past number of seasons through to their senior side. Stars like Johnny Magee, Shay Hefron, James McDade, and Johnny Tarode will benefit from playing along side experienced players like Mark Beattie, Conor Bell and Ryan Henderson who had a good outing on Sunday.
