The club competition in stroke format took place at Silverwood Gold Club on Saturday with long term member Gerry Donnelly claiming top spot with a fabulous nett 65 playing off a 28 handicap.
Gerry has been a member for Silverwood for 15 years and this fine performance granted him his first ever competition win.
Gerry played the front nine in four strokes better than his handicap with impressive par scores returned on the third and eighth holes with bogeys on the fourth, sixth and ninth holes.
He completed in inward nine in three strokes better than his handicap aided by valuable pars on the tenth, eleventh and fourteenth holes.
A great round of golf for Gerry, now seeing him play off a new 26 handicap.
In second place with a nett 67 playing off a 22 handicap was Raymond Loney. Raymond played to his handicap on the outward nine with valuable pars on the eighth and ninth holes.
His inward nine was played in five strokes better than his handicap with great par scores attained on the eleventh, thirteenth, fourteenth and eighteenth holes.
In third place with a great score of nett 67, and gross 69 (-3) was in form Patrick Jordan playing off 2 handicap.
Patrick had 6 birdies (1, 9, 11, 12, 15 & 18 holes) with bogeys on the 8th, 13th and 16th holes. Pars were his scores for the remainder.
This score now sees 18-year-old Patrick playing off a 1 handicap.
Gross prize was won by James Nobel (3) with a fine effort of +1, 73 gross. Highlights included birdies at the fourth, seventh, eleventh and twelfth holes.
Fourth place was awarded to Kieran Murray (9) with a nett 67 score. Kieran recorded a +2 gross for both outward and inward nines with birdie highlights at the 4th and 11th holes.
In fifth spot was Darryl Patton (15) also with a nett 67. A +4 gross outward nine and a +6 gross inward nine was a good round by Darryl, seeing him now play off a 13 handicap.
Section winners were as follows:
Low- Conor McCabrey nett 68.
Middle - Justin Dummigan nett 69.
High - Philip Colvin nett 69.
