The Bunting Shield was up for grabs this week in the Craigavon District Darts league with the familiar 4 a-sides taking place in the-Stables Bar and the INF A team claimed the clubs second trophy in two weeks with a 4-2 win over the Eire Og A team.
The INF B team captained by Seamy Tallon received a bye and the first team to join them in the quarter finals were Eire Og A as they came from behind twice against a gallant Trojans.
Celtic A progressed at the expense of the Forresters team on a 4-1 score with Bobby Magee’s victory over current league individual champion John Bishorek Sr the only win for the north street team. Drumgor A had to come from 2-0 down against Clann Eireann A in their first round match with a 15 dart leg by Micky Campbell and a Dee Kelly win before the the league champions reeled off four legs on the trot to put their name in the hat.
Eventual winners INF A beat hosts the Stables A by 4 games to 1. The INF C team also won their match by 4-1 over the mix up team with Micky McConville, Marty Murray and David Culbert all winning their singles before Paul Magill teamed up with Micky to take the pairs.
The Celtic Club had a second team in the quarters as their B team had a hard fought win over Trojans B.
The final round one match saw the Stables B go one step further than their A team as they had a 4-2 win over Eire Og B with Paul McGahan winning the first match before Pat Curran , Nathan Lamb and Shane Tallon all getting wins in the singles before Shane and Nathan won the doubles to go through.
The INF C team became the first of three INF teams to make the semi finals when they got the better of the Celtic B and they were to meet the Eire Og A team who had a 4-1 win over the Stables B team with Shane Tallon being the only winner. The INF B team set up a potential semi final showdown against their A team with a 4-2 win over Drumgor with Roy White , Mick Millar and Seamy Tallon all winning their singles before Mick and Seamy got the better of Eamon and Joe Duff in the final doubles match.
The INF A team had to dig deep against the Celtic A coming from 3-1 down to claim a 4-3 win.
With three INF teams in the semi-final Eire Og A made sure it was not going to be an all INF final when they had the only 4-0 win of the evening with Chris Cinnamond and Mark McLernon winning their singles first before John Cinnamond and Micky Dunwoodie hit 180s to help them complete the victory and move on to the final.
The second semi-final was a lot closer with all four singles games going against the darts. Roy White took the opening game against Dave McCusker before Dan Cahoon levelled it beating Lee Culbert. Seamy Tallon moved the B team ahead again beating Paul White but Terry Morrow ensured it was level going into the doubles with a win over Mick Millar. It was the A team who won through as they took both double matches with Dan and Dave teaming up to beat Roy and Lee and Paul and Terry beating Seamy and Mick.
It was the final that quite a few would have predicted as both teams currently sit top of the league and it was Eire Og who took the first game with John Cinnamond getting the better of Paul White.
It was the INF team though who took the next three singles matches with Dan Cahoon beating Mark McLernon, Dave McCusker beating Chris Cinnamond and Terry Morrow winning over Micky Dunwoodie to make it 3-1 going into the doubles.
John and Mark were not going to go down without a fight though and big scores by both players on every visit give them an excellent 23 dart leg and pulled one back for the Og’s . But the INF were not to be stopped as Dave and Terry took control of the final game of the night as they moved ahead with their scoring as Chris and Micky had too many stray darts and a double top finish by Dave was enough to bring the Bunting Shield back to the INF club for the second time in three years.
