A mother and son were along the winners at Lurgan this week.
Heather Shaw won silverware on Tuesday in the form of the Magennis Trophy with a stunning nett 65. Heather put together a great round which featured a birdie at the second and two further birdies in succession at 10 and 11. Certainly great round by Heather.
Just a day later her son who Philip made it a family double by convincingly coming out on top with 43 points in the Peace Cup Competition.
Playing off a handicap of 3, he toured the course in just 66 shots for his best ever round. An eagle 3 at the long 4th, and birdies at the 6th, 8th and 18th more than made up for his only dropped shot of the day at the 7th.
The Shaw family’s recent successes have been quite breathtaking.
