An already rewarding sporting season for Charlene Hull was capped when she won the Ulster Hockey Women’s Player of the Year Award.
Charlene, captain of Lurgan Ladies hockey team, led them to an historic first ever Women’s Premier League title this season.
She was also on the scoresheet throughout the season and bagged 14 goals in the Premier League, Denman Ulster Shield and Presidents Cup over the 2015-16 season
Charlene is a hard-working player who always give of her best on the pitch and is regarded as a key player in the Lurgan Ladies squad.
“This award it means a great deal to me,” said Charlene. “I’ve played for Lurgan 1sts from the age of 14, and represented Ulster on several occasions so it’s a privilege to pick up this award and be recognised for the hard work and dedication to the sport especially this season winning the league for the first time in Lurgan Ladies history and captaining the side.
“I was very surprised at the award, it was a big shock I wasn’t expecting it.”
