After many weeks of postponements the Lurgan Tigers P5’s eventually got back to playing competitive rugby on Saturday when they took a large squad to face hosts Lisburn.

The impressive numbers in attendance meant that both clubs were able to field two P5 sides, and rotate games to give the young players as much match-time as possible.

A total of six very competitive games took place between the squads.

Lurgan’s impressive young side excelled in all games, winning four and drawing two, with coach Phil McMath really impressed with the mauling and scrums in particular.

Among the scorers in an excellent Lurgan performance were Noah Parks, Callum O’Neill, Ben McAvoy, TJ Taylor, Ben Mitchell, Peter McGrath, Jack Shannon, James McMath, Mitch McClelland and Peter Bird.

Special mention also to young Charlie Turkington who capped a fine afternoon by scoring his first try for the Lurgan Tigers.

This Saturday the Tigers are away again to Dromore. Team to meet at Dromore Rugby Club at 9.45am.
