It had an even more unusual name, a ‘Badgerbug’ and it belonged to a young man from the town.

The red Volkswagen was the pride and joy of Paul Gillespie who saw an advert in a magazine for custom cars.

A trip to Coventry and the return with the car cost £2,500.

The car also took the fancy of judges at a custom car show in Portrush where Paul was presented with a silver cup for second place.

Paul is pictured her with the ‘Badgerbug’ and Jacinta McCrory.
