Nostalgia: Famous faces in Dollingstown

Some of the most famous people in the world were in Dollingstown in 1997 for a special exhibition.

Local man Mervyn Cordner put on a display some of the portraits of the rich and famous he had drawn over the previous 18 years. Many of the pictures on display were autographed by the personalities themselves. Mervyn produced the charcoal portraits working from pictures in magazines or the occasional TV interview.

When the portrait was finished he would send if off to the person concerned to have it autographed.
