For the wholesaler named a shoe in Jarlath’s honour, recognising him as one of their biggest customers in Ireland.

Spanning over five generations McConville’s even then was the oldest shoe shop in Lurgan and one of the oldest in all of Ireland.

Directors of the Lancashire-based company visited the province and told the local businessman that their ‘Jarlath’ range was selling like hot cakes.

Jarlath said he was thrilled by the honour.
