Lurgan’s Ulster Bank Section 1 encounter with Armagh at the Mall on Saturday was abandoned in the 23rd over with the town side on 75 for 2 wkts.
Put into bat, a half century partnership between Stephen Johnston and Teddy Tully for the opening wicket gave Lurgan a solid start. However after the first rain break, Bullick had Johnston judged leg before for 15, a decision that even surprised most of the Armagh team as the Lurgan opener appeared to nick a thick inside edge onto his pad. Next over and Jack Harrison was bowled by a beautiful delivery from Sinton without scoring. There was only time for Niranjan Godbole to add a boundary when the rain descended again with the match eventually abandoned at 4.30pm.
The 2nd XI game against Templepatrick at Pollock Park was called off after heavy overnight rain got under the covers making the pitch unplayable.
