Cancer Research UK hopes to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured and write an end to the disease.
In the 1970s, less than a quarter of people with cancer survived. But over the last 40 years, survival has doubled – today half will survive.
Cancer Research UK is determined to accelerate progress and see three-quarters of people surviving the disease within the next 20 years. They want survival in the UK to be among the best in the world.
They’re focusing their efforts in four key areas – working to help prevent cancer, diagnose it earlier, develop new treatments and improve current treatments by personalising them and making them even more effective.
You can join Cancer Research UK at Oxford Island, Craigavon on May 25 to learn how you can help beat cancer by writing a gift in your will.
