Professional focus on glaucoma at Specsavers Coleraine
Store director Judith Ball explains, “Glaucoma is the second biggest cause of blindness in the world but with no symptoms in the early stages many people are unaware that they have it.
“Regular sight tests which include a ‘puff test’ can pick up the early signs which vastly improves the chance of saving someone’s vision.”

The 12 week course at Ulster University provided theoretical and practical approaches to improving detection and management of the condition which we are already integrating into our daily eye examinations.”
Along with Judith, Specsavers colleagues Hugh Matson, Aaron Holmes and Patricia McMullan also successfully completed the Professional Certificate.
Specsavers recommends that eye tests should be taken at least every two years. Anyone with concerns about their eye health should contact or visit the Coleraine Specsavers store immediately – even without an appointment.
