Cricket: Porterfield inspires Ireland win
Captain William Porterfield helped Ireland to an impressive seven wicket win over Namibia, in their opening ICC T20 World Cup qualifier.
The ex-Donemana man scored an impressive 56 not out as John Bracewell’s side easily chased down Namibia’s total of 124 runs.
Porterfield smashed two nice boundaries to win the game, as Ireland cruised to victory, at a sunny Stormont, this morning.
However it was bowler John Mooney, who deservedly picked up the man of the match award, after he finished with figures of 3-23 off his four overs.
