St Patrick’s College at Stormont event
The event was hosted to underline the importance of as many people as possible making use of the native language while also promoting the value of sport and active leisure in the lives of young people.
In this field role models for the day were Ulster Railway Cup winning manager Joe Kernan, and winning captain, Darren Hughes from Monaghan.

Hide AdSt. Patrick’s Maghera received an invite to the event on the strength of tcommitment to the Irish language through their Irish Medium Department and the College’s history of involvement in Gaelic games. Senior captains Connor Carville (MacRory Cup) and Martin Mulgrew (Mageean Cup)with Head of PE and Sport Paul Hughes, represented St Patrick’s.
