North Street work to get under way in January

The third phase of public realm improvements centred on North Street will begin on January 5 and work is expected to last up to 10 weeks.

The works will extend from Church Place to Ulster Street and will include resurfacing of footpaths, the introduction of new street furniture and street lighting, and soft landscaping consistent with the completed sections of the scheme in Market Street/High Street, Edward Street and William Street.

During the works a single lane closure will be necessary, though arrangements for a diversion will be in place.

Sections of the footways will be fenced off at times during the work, though every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum and pedestrian access to shops and business premises will be maintained at all times. Council have facilitated three information sessions listening to the view of the traders in North Street and will continue to work with them to ensure it is business as usual with access to premises for customers and deliveries.

If you require any further information regarding the public realm work please feel free to contact Craigavon Borough Council on 028 3831 2400.
