Excellent performance as ladies claim spoils against Whitehead

On rink one skipped by Irene Doone along with Rosemairi Bingham, Joan Bunting and Catherine McGrail the game was tight and ended with a score of Lurgan 16, Whitehead 10½.

On rink two, skipped by Genny Little with Edith Hobson, Gwen Hayes and Molly

Ward. Their game started badly when Whitehead gained six shots on the first end; after that it was a different story and it was shot for shot.

Unfortunately they couldn’t recover the six shot from the first end, resulting in a score of Lurgan 12, Whitehead 17.

On rink three, skipped by Angela Thompson alongside Irene Cunningham, Chloe Wilson and Jennifer McVeigh were very unlucky, as they lead all the way until the last end, in which they lost five shots, ending with a score of Lurgan 11, Whitehead 12.

On rink four, skipped by Iris Anderson alongside Maura McGoldrick, Dot McCoy and Eileen Robson. The Lurgan ladies had a great game in which Maura and Dot could do no wrong.

Unfortunately Whitehead third continuously took their bowls from the jack, but Lurgan held their luck resulting in a score of Lurgan 12, Whitehead 11¼.

Lurgan ladies play away on Thursday to Lisnagarvey and are hoping for another win.
