Four star Canning steals the show at Showgrounds

Drumahoe’s poor run of results continued when they met Bentley on Saturday morning.

While they took the lead after just two minutes of this contest at the Showgrounds, they eventually lost 5-3.

In sodden conditions the hard-fought match produced a number of moments of skill, especially Gavan Canning’s four-goal haul for Bentley, whose other goal was scored by Paul Brady to open up a 5-1 lead.

Drumahoe pulled one back through Ricky McFaul’s superb strike from a wide area, and then made the score 5-3 when Ryan Devine scored directly from a 25-yard free kick (see video).
