Hamilton delighted with St. Johnstone friendly

Gary Hamilton is thrilled at the prospect of St. Johnstone coming to Mourneview Park for a friendly on Wednesday, June 24.

The Glenavon boss sees the game as a perfect platform ahead of their Europa League tie.

“It is great to have a team of the quality of St. Johstone coming to Lurgan,” said Hamilton. “It’s a great game as we work on our fitness for Europe. Like ourselves St. Johnstone are in the Europa League so we both can benefit from a good 90 minutes.”

The Scottish Premier League side are managed by Tommy Wright and secured their place in the Europa League after Inverness beat Falkirk in the Scottish Cup final.

The Perth club will play in continental competition for the fourth successive season.

Kick-off for the game is at 7.45pm. Admission charges are £10 Adult and £7 concession.
