Celtic proceeded to the next round of the Mid Ulster Cup with a 3-0 win over Camlough Rovers on Tuesday night in a tie played at Lurgan Junior High School.

A Chris Lavery penalty gave the Hoops the edge at the break and in the second half they sealed victory with further goals from Raymond Fitzpatrick and a second from Lavery.

Celtic’s margin would have greater only for the visitors keeper who pulled off several fine saves to keep the score down.

Celtic were left kicking their heels last Saturday when the league match at Limavady was postponed late in the week.

The club received an e-mail from the Northern Ireland Football League postponing the game due to their opponents participation in the semi-final of the Craig Memorial Cup, but the North West Association who are responsible for informing the league of any cup ties affecting league games failed to inform them until late on Tuesday night.

This Saturday Celtic are at home to Tobermore United who although at the bottom end of the table beat Newington recently to register their first league win of the season so they should not be underestimated and fans please note that all kick-off times for home league games are now 2.00pm until the end of January.

Lurgan Celtic Youth team travelled to Markethill Swifts Youth last Saturday and registered a 7-1 victory with goals from Douglas (2) McAlinden (2) Duff (2) and Karol.
