McCallion hoping for Lurgan Blues success

EX-Derry City defender Eddie McCallion knows Glenavon are coming up against a tough Ballymena United side, in Saturday’s Marie Curie Irish Cup Final (KO 2.30pm).

The experienced defender along with fellow former Brandywell men Ciaran Martyn and Mark Farren are all part of Gary Hamilton’s squad which travels to Windsor Park looking to secure their first Irish Cup success since the 1996/97 season.

This afternoon McCallion spoke to Sentinel Sport’s Editor Kevin McLaughlin ahead of their final training session.

Incidentally Saturday’s final will be shown live on BBC2 and also on BBC Radio Ulster.
