Over £7,000 raised for Mark Farren following charity game
Glenavon and a Derry City Select side played a special fundraising game at Mourneview Park – with the Lurgan Blues running out 6-3 winners last night.
More importantly, a significant sum of money was raised to help Farren who is battling against an aggressive brain tumour.

Hide AdThe 33-year-old requires specialist treatment in Mexico which costs in the region of £25,000.
“We have raised over £7,000 tonight which is fantastic for Mark and his family,” Glenavon boss Hamilton said.
“It is a great effort from both clubs , especially considering this game was only arranged a week ago.
“Full credit to everyone involved, from all the players, officials and the supporters who came along.

Hide Ad“Special mention to the Derry City fans who made the journey tonight, and also the Glenavon supporters who donated. It was a fantastic occasion. It was good see Mark here. He has been through so much, so it means a lot that he came along tonight.
“We just have to hope and pray that he gets the treatment he needs that will either prolong or save his life.
“We are all hoping and praying that his situation improves.”
