Carrick and District Pool League: Greenisland Galacticos travelled to Clare Roberts’ Warrriors and went into the break 5-2 up. The second half was a different affair with the Warriors bringing it all square at 6-6. But it wasn’t to be as new Northern Ireland B1 Manager Trevor Whiteside and Chris Carson made sure of an 8 -6 win for the defending champions.

League leaders The Swift defeated Hugh McMurtry’s Cowboys on the same scorline despite new signing Marty Goudie (Cowboys) continuing his fine form with a well taken hat-trick.

Second-placed Scorpions kept the heat on the pacesetters with an 8-6 success at home to Greenisland Working Men’s Club.

The Doagh Weapons secured a 10-4 success at Harry Warwick’s Greenisland Colts, with Rab McCullough and Iain Britton pocketing hat-tricks along the way.

The Teddy Bears had a week to forget as they slumped to a 14-0 reverse at the hands of Hitmen & Her. Paul Henderson and Andy McMeekin landed hat-tricks, while there were doubles for Tom McCorry, Robert Henderson, Mark McMeekin and Sara Greenberg.

The Whitehead Spartans travelled to Rathcoole where they defeated Mark Kitson’s Alpha team 11-3. In a clinical display, manager Robert Hawkins recorded his first hat-trick of the season. Kenny English also chalked up a treble.
