Innova set to perform at Red Sails

Summer is finally here, and that can only mean one thing - The Red Sails Festival in Portstewart.

This year’s Festival will take place from Sunday July, 20 to Saturday, July 26.

One of the highlights this year includes a visit from Moscow based band ‘Tony Watkins and The Smokebreakers’, who will perform a 60 years of Rock’N’Roll Show.

Other attractions include a performance by Portstewart’s Britain’s Got Talent stars The Innova Irish Dance Company.

Of course the whole of Northern Ireland got behind these talented dancers when they appeared on the popular ITV1 show. This is your chance to see the girls performing on home turf.

Rising star of the country scene Ritchie Remo is sure to pull in the crowds so too is an outside broadcast of Radio Ulster’s Hugo Duncan Show.

Other acts include top Tributes to Status Quo, Van Morrison, Thin Lizzy, Ska, and Gareth Brooks.

There will also be a number of artists performing in cafes and plenty of entertainment in local bars/ night clubs during the week.

There is also a Print Workshop on Friday, July 25 at 3pm in Portstewart Minor Town Hall.

The workshop is free, provided by Oyster Press and funded by the Coleraine Borough Arts Committee. The aim is to demonstrate what people of all ages and abilities, can achieve creatively and o encourage, stimulate and support participants to explore their creativity.

The opening of the Festival will take place on Sunday, July 20 and will take the form of an Interdenominational Service.

Organised by churches in the Portstewart area, the service will take place at The Crescent Bandstand at 2.30pm.

And the Red Sails finale is the wonderful fireworks display that brings the annual festival to a close.

Thsi will take place on Saturday, July 26 at 10.30pm .

This is one of the most popular displays in Ireland with crowds flocking into the resort from early afternoon to bring the Festival to a conclusion.
