Okereke in town

IN advance of his forthcoming solo album, Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke will play Spring and Airbrake on Monday.

With the band on hiatus, fans will get a special exclusive preview of Kele's new material at this intimate date.

Kele originally planned to take a break from music, but he could not leave his creative impulses alone and booked some studio time at EMI recording studios.

Kele Okereke will be releasing his solo album, 'The Boxer', on the strong foundation and success of Bloc Party, the band formed by Kele and another band member.

With a string of critically acclaimed albums behind him, including the platinum selling 'Silent Alarm', Kele Okereke's solo project is set to follow suit.

This forthcoming show is a chance for fans to get a sneak preview of the material that is due for release June 21. Confirmed as support for Kele is emerging artist MAMA combining streetwise pop flavours with the raw energy of the dance floor.
