Open call for World War 1 Ballymoney Legacy projects

As part of its commemoration of the 100th year anniversary of the commencement of WWI 1914-1918, Ballymoney Borough Council is funding a programme to support the delivery of legacy projects.

The Mayor, Cllr John Finlay, explained: “As we commemorate the lives and bravery of all those who served in the First World War in this centenary year we want to forge lasting connections between the past, present and future. The aim of the Ballymoney Legacy Programme is to commemorate and remember all those who lived, fought and died in WWI by creating a legacy with the current generation for future generations around the lives, stories and impact of WWI. Council has committed funding of £15,000 to the WWI Centenary 1914 – 2014 Ballymoney Legacy Programme, which will provide funding of up to £1,500 to local projects.”

Established organisations and constituted groups are invited to submit a one-page expression of interest to the Council for their projects, which must have some form of legacy, i.e. must have an output that lasts beyond this commemorative period. To request a form and information contact Margaret Doole on 028 2766 0253 or email [email protected]. The closing date is Thursday 24th April at 12noon.
