Awards win for McKeagney’s

McKeagney’s Pharmacy on Edward Street has been successful in the prestigious Pharmacy in Focus awards 2014, winning two awards for its hard work in the community,

The shop itself picked up the accolade for “Young Community Pharmacist of the Year” and Alice McConville joined the winning streak, becoming the deserving recipient of the “Customer Service” award.

The awards ceremony was held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel last month.

Alice, however, never expected to win.

“I felt really surprised, it was a big shock on the night”, she said.

Ms McConville was nominated by members of the Lurgan community for her efforts in local health promotion.

“I give a lot of talks in the local area, educating the elderly about how to be pro-active about their health”, she explained.

The manager of McKeagney’s, Joe McAnearney, said he was “extremely proud” of his staff’s hard work.
