Call for grant applications
The Partnership will accept applications under the Programme’s Farm Diversification measure, until 4pm on Friday, 14 December, 2012.
This new grant application call aims to specifically target members of a farm household who wish to set up a new business or expand a current business and the maximum grant that is available is £50,000.

Hide AdCllr Anne Marie Beattie, Chair of the Partnership’s Joint Council Committee said: “I have been delighted to see many of the projects that have already been granted funding come to fruition. There is still significant potential for farm-based applicants to apply to the fund for further development of their current business or to set up a new business within the rural community. The funding is available, what we need are people to apply to the fund.”
Alderman Allan Ewart, Chairman of the Partnership’s Local Action Group is urging rural businesses to check if they qualify for the funding:
“So far the programme has unlocked the potential for the creation and expansion of farm-based enterprises and we are keen to ensure every opportunity is given to provide funding to potential applicants. Whether it is access to new markets, the broadening of a customer base or the creation of new employment, the funding allows rural businesses to take fundamental steps forward in their business development. If you feel your business is eligible and would benefit from the Partnership’s funding please contact our office or come along to one of the advice clinics to learn more.”
A dedicated team of staff will be available to provide advice and assistance to prospective applicants through a number of advice clinics. These will run on:

A further measure is open specifically for Village Renewal applications from rural communities who have completed Lagan Rural Partnership approved village action plans.

Hide AdThere is also an opportunity for volunteers to become a social partner of the Board of Lagan Rural Partnership’s Local Action Group, all interested parties are encouraged to contact the office.
