Thomas, who has a design store in Woodhouse Street, revealed that they had the idea to open a new store before the pandemic arrived and had been a little apprehensive about opening during the crisis.

“We had a bit of an idea before the pandemic and we thought the corner unit would be a good place for the store,” said Thomas.

“Neil and myself work closely on many design projects already,” said Thomas.

“We work really well together. We are both very creative,” said Thomas.

“It has been received really well in the town and people have been very supportive,” he added.

With the help of two new staff, the duo have opened the innovative design store which would could rival top names in the fashion capitals of the world.

They have tempting pieces such as Danish lighting and Danish candles which are so similar to real candle wax but yet can be switched on.

But it isn’t a ‘haus’ for just indoor living. The pair have a great deal of outdoor furniture and furnishings.

“It has all been about creating a living space outdoors as well as indoors during this pandemic,” said Thomas.

OUThaus has firepits and outdoor rugs which can be power-washed - particularly popular with dog owners.

Thomas and Neil have stylish Halloween ideas and will soon be showcasing their Christmas decor.

“Some people said, are you mad opening at this time but people have really embraced it and given us a lot of support,” said Thomas.
