Vaccine programme is 'the light at the end of the tunnel'

Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Cathal Mallaghan, has visited a GP-led vaccination centre, calling the programme ‘the light at the end of the tunnel’.

Councillor Mallaghan spoke to local GPs Dr John Diamond and Dr Laurence Diamond who were administering the vaccine to their patients during a special clinic at Meadowbank Sports Arena in Magherafelt on Thursday.

“As we face into another five weeks of restrictions, there is light at the end of the tunnel with the widespread roll-out of the vaccination programme.

“Our GPs stand ready to administer the vaccine as quickly as they receive it and it’s heartening for us all to see more and more people, especially those who are most vulnerable, receiving their first dose and with it, some confidence for the an eventual return to a more normal life.
