Lambeg couple mark VE Day

To mark VE Day last week (Friday May 8) Joan and David Crawford, turned the garden of their Lambeg home into a museum.

The couple put on display a number of items relating to the war, including vehicles and memorabilia.

“We got a beautiful sunny day and put the display out from 8am till 4pm,” explained Joan.

“Many neighbours and passersby stopped to chat and view the collection which included a 1939 DKW Auto Union fabric bodied 2 stroke car, which we normally drive regularly, three pre-war Italian motorcycle and two mannequins dressed in 1940s coats.”
