Brandon all set for Toronto

Brandon Murray, a year 11 student at North Coast Integrated College has been named Young Entrepreneur of the Year, thanks to a programme organised by Young Enterprise.

Brandon and 11 other North Coast Integrated College pupils successfully completed the Key Programme, run by Young Enterprise in partnership with Junior Achievement Ireland and supported by The International Fund for Ireland.

The budding young entrepreneur picked up the award for the qualities he showed throughout the programme.

As part of the programme the young people were taken out of their own environment and took part in various activities throughout the school year.

Last Monday, Brandon and 36 other school pupils from across the Province attended a ceremony at the Waterfront Hall.

It was there that the Coleraine teenager found out he was Canada bound, alongside 12 others from across Northern Ireland who completed the programme.

Brandon will visit Toronto for five days in August to further enhance his knowledge of the world of enterprise.

Anne McStocker, a teacher from North Coast Integrated College told The Times: “ We had 12 pupils who completed the programme this year.

“Each of them agrees that the experience was an extremely worthwhile and enjoyable one.

“Brandon not only completed the programme but because of his participation and commitment to the programme he won a trip to Canada. We wish him every success.”
