Fusion thanks founder member

At their Fusion Festivities concert at the Island Hall on Tuesday December 16, members of Fusion Theatre honoured founder member Colette McShane.

Colette was presented with ‘The Spirit of Fusion’ trophy by ‘Fusioneer’, Nik Parks, during the concert. Nik is a past member of Fusion Theatre, who went on to forge a professional singing career.

Colette McShane, as a founder of Fusion was part of the team which supported Nik and hundreds of other young people from Lisburn through over a dozen theatrical productions, since 2001.

Fellow founder member, and now chairperson of Fusion, Anne McCleary said: “I know that none of this would have been possible without the commitment of Colette, and a few other key people who sadly are no longer with us. This trophy was appropriate as it is officially the ‘Ros McCleary Memorial Trophy’, and it was the drive and determination of both Ros, Colette, and the late Rosemary Winn, which ensured that Fusion got its start. Others of course were also involved, and have been involved over the years, but I think that it’s important to recognise those ladies in particular.

“It was also good to be able to offer a bit of a preview of our next big production - Phantom of the Opera, which is on February 4 - 8 at the Island Hall. Tickets are already selling well,” she added.
