Mayor joins Limavady’s ‘Good Morning’ scheme
Under the guidance of Limavady Community Development Initiative (LCDI), Councillor Sean Bateson recently joined its ‘Good Morning’ service which provides regular telephone contact to those who are elderly or vulnerable in the wider Roe Valley area.
The Mayor said: “Our Good Morning schemes across the Council area play a very important role, and this has been heightened by the coronavirus pandemic. From the outset of the health crisis, it has been clear that many people would need extra help and support, especially older people and those advised to shield at home.

“The service help to ensure that they have everything they need from groceries to medication, and it’s clear this service makes an invaluable positive impact on their day. I have struck up a good relationship with those I have spoken to and it has certainly been a very worthwhile experience for me.
“Once again, I want to offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone who is playing a part in the community response to COVID-19 which is helping to ensure that those in need get all the practical and emotional support they need.”
