Walkers are fuelled by oats at CHS Causeway Trek

OVER 400 walkers took part in the Chest, Heart and Stoke 2012 Causeway Trek.

Before setting off, each walker got a bowl of hearty porridge to put an extra spring in their step along the 11 mile route. Each person also picked up a goody bag at the finish line.

Roisin Hughes, Events Co-ordinator for NI Chest Heart and Stroke said: “The Causeway Trek takes in some of Northern Ireland’s most scenic countryside around the Giant’s Causeway and this year was a great success.

“NI Chest Heart and Stroke is spending £350,000 this year on high quality research in local hospitals and universities.

“We also provide a network of support groups across Northern Ireland for people affected by chest, heart and stroke illnesses.”
