40 jobs to be created with re-opening of the Marine

The new owners of the hotel, situated at 1 -3 North Street in Ballycastle, completed purchase of the well-known hotel in March this year.

They have now announced that the entire hotel will re-open on Friday 14 June.

The landmark hotel will be run by local business woman from Armoy Claire Hunter together with her two other business partners Colum McLornan and John O’Connell.

Together the trio have more than 40 years experience in the tourism industry running hotels throughout the world from small 18 bedroom properties to international 300 room resorts.

The management say the hotel will offer “good value and comfortable 3 star accommodation, food and surroundings overlooking the breath-taking Ballycastle beach to Rathlin Island and beyond”.

The Marine Hotel will also be moving into the wedding and conference market offering facilities for all types of functions from 30 to 350 people.

The re-opening of the Marine will create over 40 full time jobs in the 31 bedrooms, bar, coffee shop, restaurant and function room.

The opening weekend coincides with Father’s Day and the owners will celebrate the relaunch with a new Sunday Carvery offering five courses with kids entertainment and a gift for the fathers.

The owners were pleased to show Chair of Moyle District Council Sandra Hunter, around the hotel complex on Wednesday ahead of the opening.
