The business was borne from the desire to create a homely environment for children to play and learn.

Peartree Barn Nursery is a full daycare nursery offering care for children ages 6 months to 12 years old. The Nursery is set in uninterrupted countryside with wildlife and farm animals in full view of the children.

There is never a typical day at Peartree Barn Nursery, I have a basic schedule doing school runs in the mornings and afternoons and cooking for lunch and snacks, I do all our own home-cooking on site where our fresh produce is sourced locally.

The children have a little more structure than I do as we try to keep mealtimes as consistent as possible so the children can learn to tell the time.

Throughout the nursery we have a basic daily routine but within that there is the flexibility to allow for child led activities and play.

Forward planning is key so we follow a themed curriculum for each month; July was full of Artwork focusing on passport stamping and paddling pool splashing, ice-cream cones with singing galore. At the minute we’re also preparing for our Craft and Construction Summer Scheme from August 18 -22. This will include mural painting, sculpture, mosaics and much much more.

My background as an Artist will help guide the children to create pieces of sculpture that will be proudly erected in and around the Nursery while the children will also take home individual pieces.

Personal development is fundamental to our approach as we should never shrink from challenge of learning new things regardless of our age. This mindset is why I am currently completing my Level 3 in Childcare and Level 5 in Management.

Large outdoor play spaces and an orchard allow us to encourage an ‘outdoorsy’ lifestyle, with nature walks with lots of fresh air and time spent playing in the ‘Great Outdoors’.

We are excited to be opening our after school facility at the end of July accommodating primary school aged children, this will be a relaxed session where a little homework can be done but the children will have the chance to unwind and socialise after a busy day at school.
