A resident, who sent in pictures of a vandalised car that was covered in broken pots, earth and plants, said the problem is ongoing, with youths gathering in the village park to drink at night.

“They park in droves of cars at night drinking and doing whatever else keeping the elderly and residents wakened,” they said.

“I’ve contacted police in many occasions and they just still repeat what they are doing.”

Asked to pinpoint other incidents, the concerned resident went on to say there’s that many, they couldn’t: “They drink there every weekend, disturbing residents in the early hours of the morning! Lots of vandalism.”

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Police are aware of reports of antisocial behaviour in the Donaghmore area. On Saturday evening (April 30th) at shortly before 7.30pm, it was reported that a car, parked in the vicinity of Main Street, had been damaged. Police enquiries are continuing, but we would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything to come forward.

“The number to call is 101.

Chief Inspector Stephen Humphries added: “Anti-social behaviour can have an adverse effect on the quality of life for many in our community.
