As well Kennedy was fined £100 for disorderly behaviour in Amigos, William Street.

The case had been adjourned from a previous court so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.

Last Wednesday’s court heard that on March 17 last year police were tasked to William Street in Lurgan where a fight was going on involving females.

The defendant who was in Amigos was shouting at the injured parties. It was alleged she pushed the head of one of the victims against a wall, kicked her and pulled her hair. Another victim was kicked and had bruises of her legs.

When Kennedy was interviewed she claimed she acted in self-defence and it was she who had been assaulted.

Deputy District Judge Sean O’Hare said there seemed to be a loss of hair in relation to one of the injured parties.

A barrister representing the defendant said there was a perceived comment against the partner of her daughter. He added that it was St Patrick’s Day and Kennedy had taken more than a few drinks.

The lawyer explained the case had initially been listed as a contest but the prosecution was contacted to stand down witnesses and a guilty plea was entered.. He said that his client was now trying to avoid situations where her temperament would be tested although the previous entries on her record did her no favours.

Judge O’Hare said he would leave something hanging over the defendant.

He would take into account there had been no offending in the past year.
